Merry Christmas 2010

It's that time again,

Another year gone by,

Time to catch you up on things,

At least I'm going to try!

Still here in Colorado,

and happy as can be,

Lots of outdoor things for us to do,

Hike, bike, swim and ski!

In March we said goodbye to Rob,

Who knew it could be so rough?

A year just me and our two sweet girls,

A year to make us all tough!

Miss Julian turned 3 in April,

She's growing up so fast!

Between gymnastics, soccer and dance,

The months seem to fly right past!

She is quite the little diva,

Loves her dolls and dress up too!

Such a wonderful big sister,

and so much like you know who :)

Now Ava Clare, she is a handful,

It's her way and no other!

I'm sure you all are thinking,

That sounds just like her mother!

She's quite the little talker,

So quick to tell you so!

Hard to believe she'll be 2 so soon,

Really where does the time go?

The girls sure miss their daddy,

His mid-tour visit in September went too fast!

Just glad we had two weeks with him,

The girls sure had a blast!

Now as for me, what did I do,

To make this year fly by?

My friends and I decided to run,

I figured why not try!

The Army 10 Miler in Washington, DC,

Yes I said 10 miles!

We trained so hard, through thick and thin,

And I finished with a smile!

So now the year is winding down,

We are excited about the Holiday season!

It's time to reflect on everything in life,

Remembering the true reason.

Julian and Ava are excited as well,

Of course Santa makes them smile!

They know "he's watching" to see if they are good,

Their wish list continues to grow by the mile!

This year will be quite different,

Wishing daddy was here,

But it won't be long until he's home,

Now that's a reason to cheer!

We send big hugs to everyone,

Our family far and near.

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas,

And a safe and Happy New Year!

Love

Rob, Rachel,

Julian and Ava Clare

Breakfast with Santa

Villa Sport does a GREAT job celebrating the holidays - especially from a child's point of view! Today was a pancake breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Clause! The girls were so excited - even though Ava decided real quick that Santa wasn't her cup of tea...she preferred Mrs. Clause!

Santa's Little Helper...

Frohe Sankt Niklaus tag

Continuing this German tradition is very important to us :) As the story goes, on the evening of December 5th, St. Nicklaus visits the houses of good little girls and boys and leaves a few treats in their boots - if they are naughty, then Black Peter visits and leaves their boots full of coal. Guess our girls have been pretty good this year :)

Oh Christmas Tree...

FREE!

It's that time again - time for Christmas madness! And while I am stressing over my annual holiday poem, the awesome people at Shutterfly are giving away 50 free Holiday Cards to bloggers! Yes, any and all bloggers, not just those with a national following! Even me and my meager 21 followers qualify, how cool is that!!!???

So FREE is right up my alley! What a great way to say Thank You to everyone for spreading the news! I'm super excited about this giveaway because I love Shutterfly's Christmas cards this year! Glad a friend of mine sent this my way, because until then, I hadn't even thought about Christmas cards...like I said, stressing over the poem :)

I'm big in to photo cards and they have a great selection to choose from in their Christmas Cards section! How else could you possibly "share" a years worth of children's activities!!???

I think a perfect gift for someone who is hard to buy for, and come on, we ALL have at least one, is a calendar! One of these Calendars would be perfect for grandparents, Aunts and Uncles or even that deployed family member, much like our daddy! Who wouldn't enjoy seeing a loved ones face everyday???

Of course, I realize that we all don't celebrate "Christmas" so for those of you celebrating Hanukkah, they have something for you too! The selection is just as fabulous :)

So remember, bloggers get 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly...sign up athttp://bit.ly/sfly2010!

Army 10 Miler...

When we decided to register and train for the Army 10 Miler back in March, I could not even run a mile and my goal was to just finish! 7 months later I not only finished, I finished well! Before we left I set my goal to finish in under 100 minutes (1 hr 40 min) and as you can see, I beat my goal! It was a wonderful weekend, full of good food and laughter, but most importantly, GREAT friends! I am so proud of all of us for setting out on this journey together!
