Ski day...

Skiing on the Hausberg...

We took Julian skiing up on the Hausberg Ski Area for the first time today - she loved it! We have high hopes that she's the next Picabo Street :) Watch out 2017 Winter Olympics, here she comes!

Daddy, Ava and I...it was such a beautiful day!

Finally a GATOR...

Grandpa is here visiting and brought a few gifts...mainly a GATOR outfit for both girls...Ava has some growing to do before she fits in hers...it will be perfect for next football season! As you'll see, Julian's fits just fine...hopefully she's good luck for March Madness :)

Ava smiles all the time now - looking quite cute in an outfit from Aunt Kat :)

Pigtails, Princesses and Cute Little Feet...

So I have waited a long time to be able to put Julian's hair in pigtails...she finally let me do it! As you can see, she looks adorable...we just need a little more hair on top :)

She is our little fashion diva too...check out the faux fur collar and the new boots...she thought she was hot stuff but she would not look at the camera ;)

The Monday before Fasching is called "Rosenmontag" and all the kids at school dressed up - Remember, Fasching is the German version of Mardi Gras! I was surprised that she actually wanted to put on the dress and hat...but as you'll see, she was a very grumpy "princess" when she got home from school...

Ava turned 2 months on the 19th...I cannot believe how much she has changed! She is such a sweet baby...sweet smiles and sweet little feet :)

Fasching - "Dirty Thursday"

This day is called "dirty" because "Schmutz (dirt) is the Alemannic word for "fat" and it's the day the German's make Fastnachtskrapfen, donuts fried in fat! ( and yes, they are YUMMY!)

Fasching is the German version of Mardi Gras - lots of masks, dancing, and parades! It's common to see men in masks with huge cowbells strapped on their backs trying to chase out winter with their hellish racket. A dancer follows them in a pretty costume showing spring the way.

The kids were told they could dress up for the kick off of Fasching or Carnevale...we opted not to dress Julian up, but she did get her face painted at school...you can see how cute she looked!

And why is Ava smiling...well, she turns 2 months old today!

Two Hot Mama's...

Well, at least we like to think so :) This is my dear friend Claudia...we were due a week apart and ended up having the girls exactly 3 weeks apart...The first picture is of us at around 37 weeks, both ready to pop! The second picture is the day Claudia and Lana came home. Boy, does time fly!

Little Feet...

To me, there are not many things cuter than a little girls toes...I love to photograph their little feet! We painted Julian's toenails (a very light shade of pink for daddy's sake) for the first time yesterday...I am still shocked that she sat still long enough to do it!

A Monday Update...

Unfortunately we are all suffering from colds at the moment...just sniffles and coughs but still no fun! We had a great weekend with lots of fresh snow...sorry none of these reflect that :) Enjoy these new shots, I promise to upload lots more this week!

We get lots of smiles now!

Julian and Bennett...

We are very excited to have our friends from Africa visiting this week. They live in Dar el Saleem, Tanzania and have a little girl who is 6 months older than Julian. This is the first time the girls have met, but became instant friends...Julian was anxious to have Bennett watch CinderElmo with her and I caught a few shots of the girls all "into" the movie!

Ava's Baptism

We had Ava baptized on Saturday, January 31st. It was a very special day and we were very blessed to have most of our friends from Garmisch in attendance. My sister-in-law, Courtney, is Ava's God-Mother and our dear friend, Matt Winters, is her God-Father. It was a very beautiful ceremony and we hosted a small reception immediately after. Here are a few pictures from this blessed event...

Getting "good" family pictures is quite tough, but here are the best shots...

Copy Cat...

Saturday, 31 January we attempted to go watch the World Cup Downhill Ski Race - unfortunately, the fog was so thick they canceled it. I had been carrying Ava in the Baby Bjorn and when we got home, Julian decided she needed to try it out with her baby...
